Healthier Holiday Sweets
I got me a wicked sweet tooth. Finding healthier alternatives to decadent and delicious desserts and other sweet treats is an exhilarating hunt. Here are some I've recently come across. Caveat: I haven't tried them all yet, so you'll have to be the judge.
1. The Safe + Fair Food Company offers allergen-free goodies that remove peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, wheat, soy, shellfish and fish from their products, which include granolas, chips, mixes and more. I tried the Key Lime Pie (yum!) and Dark Chocolaty Drizzled Popcorns. At $6.50 for a 7.5 oz. bag, go ahead and splurge!
2. Try a healthier waffle from Flourish. This plant-based, low-calorie, dairy-, nut-, gluten- and allergen-free waffle mix is packed with omega-3s and fiber. The 16 oz. comes in at just under $14.
3. For a seasonal treat, check out the pumpkin spice donuts from Southern Roots Vegan Bakery. This online baked good company is minority-owned and their vegan goodies are also nut- and coconut-free. They also offer brownies, cookies, cinnamon rolls and more. Get 10% off when you sign up for emails.
4. Freshly baked and gluten free, David's Cookies offer a variety of delicious desserts for gift giving. Try out their cookie and brownie gift basket crate for $40 or mini-Christmas cookies gift box for $24.
Note: I may receive a small commission from items you purchase from this post.
