Clean Beauty -- The Face

I'm forever on the hunt for clean beauty products -- stuff that's organic, not tested on animals, no icky chemicals, etc. Though I can't always find the exact combination, these are some of my tried and trues I feel good about using, and that give me results!

1. I recently discovered this hyaluronic acid by The Ordinary, and considering it's under five bucks, it's a goddamn miracle. Named a winner in Allure magazine's 2019 Best of Beauty awards, it's good for all skin types, ultra-pure and vegan. I use this stuff everyday.

2. Using witch hazel as a toner was something I did for many years, but when my skin changed, I found it dull and drying. Cue Caudalie Moisturizing Toner, another daily product that I apply before my hyaluronic. Described as game-changing, it's vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-, synthetic chemical- and gluten-free. With a subtle scent and velvety feel, it's luxury in a decently-priced bottle.

3. If you've never tried a gel moisturizer, Daily Greens is a nice one to start with. It's not sticky or oily, and has a pleasant scent. With moringa and papaya, this oil- and silicone-free moisturizer hydrates skin while helping clear pores and reduce shine. I layer it over my cream moisturizer, but it works fine alone. You can try out the travel size for $15.

4. Though I switch up moisturizers quite often, The Dewy Skin Cream by Tatcha gets rotation in my face routine. At nearly $70, this one's a splurge, but I love the unusual ingredients like Japanese purple rice, green tea and Okinawa algae. Free of gluten, sulfates, parabens and more, this face moisturizer improves my skin's texture and radiance.

Happy moisturizing!
